As the Chief of Intelligence, your primary role in the committee will be to collect, analyze, interpret, and offer solutions to intelligence you receive. During the conference you can collect intelligence either by writing to the crisis staff (BosMUN staffers who manage the crisis from a separate room) to direct your "department" to gather intelligence, or you may be given intelligence documents by the crisis staff. You can present this intelligence to the committee and what you think is its larger significance to the crisis -- not unlike what intelligence officials around the world do today. Of course, you should not limit your interaction with the committee to this specific role but should feel free to voice your opinion on whatever topic the committee happens to be discussing at the moment.

%p?{2Yk|A0As a delegate, I recommend that you come prepared with a thorough knowledge of the conflict. Unlike UN-style. committees, debate in crisis committees proceeds primarily through moderated caucus and is very fast-paced, so being well-informed is key. Another important distinction from UN-style. committees, crisis committees do not write resolutions. Instead, your committee has a number of tools to react to the issue at hand: communiques, official correspondence with bodies outside of the committee, such as foreign governments; press releases; and directives, which direct various departments of your committee to take action -- your committee will likely pass many of these throughout the course of the conference as different situations arise in the crisis.
